Paolo Bellucci – Laurea in Sociology (Rome), Master in Political Science (Iowa) – has been a researcher at the European University Institute (1981-1984) and at Censis Foundation (1984-1988), researcher and professor of Political Science at the University of Molise (1988-2004). Since 2005 he is professor of Comparative Political Behaviour in the doctoral programme of the University of Siena and teaches Research Methods and Political Sociology at the undergraduate level. He has been visiting professor at CIRCaP-University of Siena (2000-2001); the Department of Government, University of Essex (2004); the Universitè de Montreal (2011); the Universitè de Montpellier (2011); Isahia Berlin Visiting Fellow, Christ Church, Oxford University (2011); Jemolo Fellow, Nuffield College, Oxford University (2012). He served in the Board of Società Italiana di Scienza Politica (SISP) (2007-2012), and in the International Advisory Board of the British Election Study (University of Essex). He is member of the Sterring Committe of ITANES (Italian National Election Study), and is chairman of the SISP standing group on Parties, Public Opinion and Elections (POPE). He was chair of the Department of History, Law, Politics and Sociologi of the University of Siena (2009-2012).
He has conducted comparative research on electoral behaviour, and studies on political participation, the relationship between politics and bureaucracy, the politics of defence.
